Gatherin Muffins
Faced with doing countless research papers during high school, it was almost uncommon to use a book for said researching. Much easier to ask my Mother to go on her computer and look up some stuff in Ask.Jeeves.com (where the hell did that go?) There were times during my curriculum where teachers made a point to have students use the library for more of their research. I noticed that plenty of students were adept in searching for the books and their code on the computer, however when it came time to look for the book, it would've seemed as though they were trekking through a huge labyrinth running around in circles. Was this disconcerting to me? Not in the least, in fact I don't believe I've written a paper without the internet since then. Typical search engines are still available to complete all of the research work necessary. Yet when I'm doing historically accurate research, there is a void of truthfulness that teachers of "school of books", challenge because much of the for instance Wikipedia is biased. I'm constantly checking my blogs and regular websites at numerous points throughout the day. For myself I have discovered that a constant stream of information can be more helpful than a book that takes years to publish, and only offers a streamline of certain information. BY NO MEANS am I knocking novels, If there's one thing I love to do it's sink my teeth into a good book. With the knowledge of information being polluted by those free to publish whatever they may choose, the internet and search engines have become more trained and concentrated to correct content. This will undoubtedly change as we all know.
